the cakes quintessential chocolate cake $5.50/slice the perfect embodiment of a chocolate cake. three layers of devil’s food sandwiched with whipped chocolate ganache, cloaked in a dark chocolate glaze and covered with dark chocolate curls. highland mocha stout cake $5.00/slice local beer imparts a dark, malty flavor in moist, dense chocolate cake. filled and topped with coffee buttercream, & finished with dark chocolate curls. vanilla cake $5.50/slice three layers of lush vanilla cake frosted and filled with....our whim. it may be the infamous maple butter cake with smoked salt, or the classic combo of peanut butter and milk chocolate, or seasonal local berries. unadulterated carrot cake $5.00/slice we respect those who like their carrot cake studded with raisins, nuts and other goodies, but our pure version is all about the carrots and spice (and the cream cheese frosting, of course). served chilled. chocolate truffle torte $5.00/slice 65% cacao bittersweet chocolate, local free range eggs, and organic sweet cream butter. flourless. best served with whipped cream and a tart sauce of local berries. theros olive oil chocolate cake (v) $5.00/slice this light chocolate cake features Theros olive oil and rich cocoa powder. the decadent frosting is made from dark chocolate, agave and a pinch of sea salt. served w/ local strawberry sauce. chilled desserts pots de creme $4.00 dark & dense chocolate custard featuring french press coffee, and topped with freshly whipped cream. creme brulee $5.00 we torch to order to achieve that classic, crunchy carmelized layer atop creamy, smooth baked custard. available in chocolate or lavender. tiramisu $6.50 our version of this classic italian dessert features coffee-soaked sponge cake, smooth mascarpone custard, thin layers of dark chocolate, and a rich espresso caramel. cheesecake $5.50 we love to play with cheesecake. in fact, you’ll probably find a different flavor on each visit. some of our returning favorities include bittersweet chocolate, local berries, banana chocolate, and sometimes, if you’re lucky, it’ll feature chunks of our luscious brownies. chocolate mousse $5.00 silken textured bliss, layered in a glass. flavors vary with the inspirations of the season. cookies & tarts french almond macaron $2.25 the classic almond meringue sandwich cookie, our way. with unskinned almonds and beautiful fillings like buttercream or chocolate glaze. sweet baby pecan tart $4.50 the organic Missouri pecans in this tart exhibit a unique sweetness and pair beautifully with the chewy caramelized filling and crunchy tart crust. served with freshly whipped cream. shortbread $1.75-2.25 naked is the perfect pure & simple shortbread, unadorned. or try them coated with chocolate & nuts. the perfect chocolate chip cookie $2.00 crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle, with just enough chocolate and a good presence of vanilla. they reach perfection with a sprinkle of cacao nibs for flavor & crunch. coconut macaroons $2.00 a crispy exterior yields to a chewy sweet center in these classic cookies. we top ‘em with a kiss of our dark chocolate glaze. ginger cookie $2.00-2.75 blackstrap molasses and a blend of spices in a crunchy & chewy cookie. naked or dipped in 65% dark chocolate. savory bites local artisan cheese plate small $7.00 · large $11.00 four local/regional artisan cheeses, housemade semolina & olive oil crackers, housemade chutney. see specials board for our featured cheeses. drinking chocolates liquid truffles $3.25 our signature opulent, ganache-based hot sipping chocolate, the likes of which you’ll find in Europe’s finest chocolate shops. This special touch adds the desirable crunchy texture of nuts, while keeping the flavor all chocolate. mint chocolate chunk brownie $3.50 A little fudgier than our original nibby brownies with dark chocolate chunks & pure, organic essential oil of peppermint. coconut macaroon brownie $3.50 Our signature dark chocolate brownie is topped with a layer of coconut macaroon and baked until golden brown. spicy nibby brownie $3.50 Like our Canela Picante truffle, this brownie combines bittersweet chocolate with spicy cayenne pepper and ground cinnamon for a slow-building and lingering mild heat. Cacao nibs add a complex chocolate flavor and nutty crunch. wine our menu of small production wines are mostly organic, some biodynamic, all there for a reason.
